Spelling Paragraph

Due on Friday, May 17

I live where there is much

snow.  Winter has gone and spring

has come. I saw a robin busy building

a nest.

A look at the week ahead:

This is our last full week of school!  I’m having a hard time believing that.

The weather has surely been beautiful!

We are hoping for  a great day on Thursday for our class trip.

Class Trip - Thursday, May 16 - Items to Remember:

  1. I’m still waiting for a few of you to bring $1 for admission to Pioneer Village.
  2. Wear your school “Run the Race” T-shirt.
  3. Wear a shoe that is good for hiking. No sandals or flip-flops!
  4. Please send a sack lunch along with your child that day.

It works best if the drink you send along has a screw-on lid.

5. Take along a sweatshirt in case of cooler weather.

On Friday, May 17   Bible Verse

Your child chose the Bible Verse he would like to say.  On Friday, your child will say the verse to me and tell me why it is an important one to know by heart.

It’s great to hear them recite a verse and tell about why it’s important to  them!

Spelling and Paragraph are also due on Friday, May 17

Hi Everyone!
I am Karen Van Schepen.
I teach 2nd grade at Southwest Christian Schools.
I have been teaching for several years and thoroughly enjoy it!
I grew up in Edgerton and attended Edgerton Christian Elementary and Southwest Christian High.
I graduated from Dordt College in 1980 with my degree in Elementary Education.
My husband is a veterinarian and also an assistant pastor at our church.
We have three boys who are all teachers!

A favorite Bible passage of mine is Psalm 139, especially verses 13-14, where it says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
We are wonderfully made, aren't we?
I believe that each of us is a unique child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made!  God created each of us the way he wanted, and most importantly, He made us to know Jesus!  That's my goal as a teacher is to teach my students to read and write, but most of all, to get to know Jesus!
